This tip assumes that your internet server is running
FrontPage Extensions and you local web is a disk web. So let's get
started.
Step 1: Backup and Record the Location of your Local
Web
See the following tip for the proper method to
backup your web on your local machine. Record the location of your Local
Web (use the Tools->Site Settings or Tools->Web Settings... menu to find
the disk location of the web.) Close down all copies of FrontPage so as to
avoid any confusion about what web you might be looking at.
Step 2: Bring up the Remote Web up in FrontPage
First bring the remote web site in FrontPage. Bring up
FrontPage (if a web is opened up upon startup, close it) and select the "File->Open
Web..." menu, the "Open Web" dialog will appear. Type your web site
URL in the "Web Name" text field and press the "Open" button. If the
server supports FP extensions, a Username / Password dialog should appear.
Enter your username and password and press the "OK" button (this is the
same username and password used to publish the web). The remote web should
now appear in FrontPage.
Step 3: Publish the Remote Web to your Local Web
location.
Now select the File->Publish Web... menu. the "Publish Destination"
dialog should appear.

Press the "Browse" button and locate your
local web on your hard drive (See Step 1). Then press the "OK" button. The "Publish Web" dialog should appear
with the new destination setting. You may wish to include your
subwebs in the backup by checking the "Include subwebs" checkbox
You might also want to verify that the "Publish Changes Only is selected
in the Options dialog. You can
now press the "Publish" button to publish your remote web to
your local web.
And That's It
You have reverse published your remote web to your local web.
Restoring your Web
If your web becomes damaged and need to be restored, then all you have to
do is bring up the web on your hard drive in FrontPage and publish it to
the web location that you got it from.
And That's it
