Here are some common
FrontPage Quirks and Workarounds to these common problems.
Problem: FrontPage is
acting generally flakey
Solution: Detect and Repair - The Fix
All Tool
When FrontPage starts acting strange or add-in menus disappear, I will usually select the "Detect and Repair..." item from the "Help" menu. You will need your FrontPage program CD for the repair. This operation will
not effect your web data but will reinstall the major components of FrontPage.

Problem: My Add-in menus have disappeared
Solution: The Tools->Add-ins Menu
Select the Tools->Add-ins menu, the Com Add-ins dialog will appear.
Observe the add-ins listed and the state of the check boxes. Press the OK
button and see if the menus have reappeared. Usually a Help->Detect and
Repair operation will fix this problem for good.

Problem: I changed an image file with my image editor
but the image looks that same on my web page.
Solution: Restart FrontPage application
You are experiencing a FrontPage caching problem. Restarting FrontPage
will flush the working cache.

Problem: My Local web site and the
web site I published to the server are not in sync.

Publishing Problems.

Problems tip.

Problem: When I add a new Hyperlink
to a page, my "_" folders disappear and next time I save a page it takes
longer.
Solution: copy a Hyperlink from
somewhere else and edit it in Code mode.
This is an annoying problem where FP marks the shared borders as dirty and
forces a recalculate of the hyperlinks next time a page is saved. This is
no big deal on a small web site, but is a costly problem on a large site
where a recalculate hyperlinks can take several minutes. The "work around"
is to copy an existing hyperlink from somewhere and edit it in code mode.

Problem: When I change the state of the shared border
using the Format->Shared Borders menu, it deletes my old shared borders.
Solution: Modify the Shared Border meta-tag directly.
The Shared Border dialog is dangerous! See our tip;

And That's it
