Using the Component Effects Page
Scroller for a Tip of the Day display
This month's tip shows you how to add a
couple lines of JavaScript to make a random "Tip of the
Day" or a "Special of the Day" display using the FrontLook
CFX Page Scroller. This might be very useful for reviewing
usage tips with your viewers or special of the day at a
restaurant web site.

| Cleaning Up the _frontlook
Directory The _frontlook
folder contains all the external files to support our
applets and components. If you have added and then deleted
components to your web, you may have some files in your _frontlook
folder that are no longer required.
Where is the _frontlook Folder?
If you can't see the "_frontlook" folder, then select the
Tools->Web Settings... menu item and then the "Advanced"
tab and check the "Show documents in hidden folders" check
box. Then press OK. You will be asked if you would like to
refresh your web, press OK to continue. You should now be
able to see the _frontlook folder in your folders list.
You should see see a _frontlook folder in every
subdirectory containing a page that use a FrontLook applet
or component.
Do You know where your Components
are?
To clean up the FrontLook folder, you must know of all the
pages that contain FrontLook Java Effects applets, Page
Effects and Component Effects products because you will
need to open all these page to reconstitute the _frontlook
support files. If you miss a page, then you may disable
that applet or component.
Cleaning Up the _frontlook Folder
Start by deleting the contents of the _frontlook folder.
Then bring up the web pages with the FrontLook applets and
component on them and press the OK button. This will
re-copy all the required support files to the web. Then
test you web to make sure your components are all
operational.
