Enable users to initiate a Search from any page using a Quick Search Form

In this tip we will insert a quick search form into the shared border of our web site so use can initiate a search from any page on the web. A demo version of the Site Search Engine is available on your personal download page.

When using the FrontLook Site Search Engine, sometimes a user will be searching your web site using words that are not actually used on a page but is a relevant search term for that page. Or maybe your page is dynamically generated and therefore the search engine cannot inspect the page for content generated by a data base query. The FrontLook Site Search Engine searches Meta-tag Keywords to help users find the right pages on your site faster. You can set Keywords on a page by using FrontPage's Page Properties dialog and adding the "Keyword" meta tag to the page or use the Edit Search Area dialog to add or edit keywords to a page. Each keyword should be delimited by a comma. See the FrontLook Site Search Engine Edit Page Title / Keywords dialog for more information.
