Optimizing FrontLook Site Search Engine Performance

The FrontLook Site Search Engine is great tool for small to medium web sites, but as the number of pages on your web site grows to a large web site (>1000 pages), the response time of the search will eventually decrease. This months tip will explore two ways to speed up the site search engine

Finding content even when the search term is misspelled

The FrontLook Site Search Engine can search the Keywords meta tag for matching words. By adding misspelled words or search terms that you do not use on your web site (for competitive reasons), your user will be able to find related content.

From the "Edit Search Areas" dialog, you can set keywords on a page by double-clicking the page icon, the "Edit Page Title / Keyword" dialog will appear. Enter the each keyword, delimited by commas. These keywords will be used by the search engine to locate matches.
