Often your company or web site client has a
"company color" or standard color that must be used in the web design.
Using a Super Theme, the Chameleon and a utility called the "Eye Dropper",
you can usually colorize the Super Theme, FrontPage theme and other site
graphics to the desired color.
If you intend to colorize a Super Theme or
other site graphics, please review the "Using
FrontLook Theme and Image Chameleon to colorize a wrap-around Web Template"
tip for overall process of colorizing a Super Theme or web. The principles
in this tip will provide you with a simple method of color matching using
the Chameleon and the Eye Dropper utility.
1) Acquire Eye Dropper utility
You will need the way of determining the color of items on the screen.
Please go to the following URL to download and install the Eye Dropper
3.01 utility.

Once you have download the Eye Dropper zip file, you can unzip the "eyedropper.exe"
file and place it some where in your hard drive (there is no installer,
the zip file contains the program only). You may wish to place a shortcut
to the program on your desktop as well.
Note: it is important that you set your
display depth to a high or true color setting, i.e., 15, 16, 24 or 32 bit.
To do this, right-click any where on your desktop and select Properties
and then the Settings tab. Then set the Colors popup to true or high
color.

Set display to high or true color
2) Measure the Standard Color Value
Bring up a graphic that has the standard color in it and then launch the
Eye Dropper utility

Measure the standard color
Record the standard color R-G-B numbers.
3) Backup the web
It is important that you back up your web as it is easier to go restore
from a backup web than it is to back out global changes.
4) Bring up the web to colorize
Now bring up the web to be colorized and select either a theme element or
graphic in the web that you would like the standard color to match. Then
bring up the Theme Chameleon or Image Chameleon in the Format menu. Once
the preview is displayed, bring up the Eye Dropper utility.
5) Adjust the H-S-B sliders and compare
to the standard color
Adjust the Hue, Saturation and Brightness slider to bring the color
close to the standard color using the Chameleon Preview. Then use the Eye
Dropper to verify the numbers by selecting a color in the theme to compare
against the standard color.
This will take some iteration and some time
to get the feel on how Hue, Saturation and Brightness effect R-G-B values.
Here are some general rules about how Hue, Saturation and Brightness
effect R-G-B values:

Adjust the H-S-I sliders to match the standard color
6) Record the H-S-B slider values
Once you have matched the standard color (or close enough), record the
Hue, Saturation and Brightness sliders.
7) Complete the template colorization
Now continue colorizing the Theme and other graphics according to the
Using FrontLook Theme and Image
Chameleon to colorize a wrap-around Web Template" tip using the
recorded H-S-I values.
And that its!
This tip showed you how to
match a standard color using the FrontLook Chameleon product.
