New Advanced FrontLook Site Search Engine for Microsoft FrontPage Web Sites

Offers Power and Professional Features of a High-End Search Engine Without Monthly Fees, Keeps Visitors on Site

Waukesha, WI—September 24, 2003— The new FrontLook® Site Search Engine from DPA Software makes it easy for users of Microsoft® FrontPage® to set up a professional site search engine on their own site that’s consistent with its look and feel. The add-in package for FrontPage is inexpensive ($39.95), easy to use, and offers advanced search features that return relevant results, akin to leading external site search engine services, but without the monthly fees.

"Most Webmasters need a professional site search engine to help viewers locate site information without leaving their site or exposing them to the annoying ads often found on external search engines," said DPA Software founder David Pfeiffer.

The FrontLook Site Search Engine advances the built-in capabilities of the FrontPage Search Component. “Webmasters can now easily control what pages are searched, format the font and table styles of the results page to match the style of their site, and provide visitors professional result summaries with page links,” continued Pfeiffer.

The package includes a simple dialog interface for quick setup. The Search Areas Editor lets Webmasters set up multiple search areas, or sets of pages with a common theme, and determine what pages are included in each. Visitors then choose search areas from a pull-down menu to get targeted search results. The Search Page Insert Dialog inserts one or more main search pages on a site. The Quick Search Insert Dialog inserts a mini-search-form on any page. This allows visitors to initiate a search from any page, which then takes them to the main search page to view and refine their results.

The FrontLook Site Search Engine supports both Boolean and exact matches of text and keyword meta-tags. The visitor controls page navigation, number of results per page, sort order (relevance, page title), search area and search type. The search engine can be configured using Microsoft FrontPage 2000, 2002 or 2003 and runs on a Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) server 4.0 or greater running Active Server Pages (ASP).

FrontPage users may download a free, 30-day trial demo from the FrontLook.com download page. The demo limits the number of search areas and number of pages in each search area.

First, all 12 FrontLook products have been updated to operate with FrontPage 2003. FrontLook companions help create color-rich, animated web sites in minutes. FrontLook Java Effects:
