What are Super Themes?

Super Themes gives you the wrap-around theme look with the ease-of-use of regular FrontPage themes, just bring up the Super Themes Browser from the Format menu, select a Super Theme and press the OK button and your existing web site has that modern wrap around theme look.

The Super Themes Browser takes care of all the setup of the shared borders, navigation bars and copies the additional graphics to the web. Change your wrap-around theme as often as you'd like with the press of a button!

Super Themes are also compatible FrontPage Web Templates, so if you are creating a new web, just bring up the "New Web" dialog and select from the available Super Theme Web Templates.

A Super Theme Maker Tool is also available for Theme Developers.

What are the System Requirements for Super Themes?

Super Themes requires Microsoft FrontPage 2000 or 2002 running on a Windows 98, ME, 2000, NT or Win XP computer. The Super Themes product will consume about 8 MB of disk space, mostly due to the web templates.

Super Themes operate with most all browsers, but look best in N4+ and IE4+ browsers.

If you have any concerns about FrontLook working with your system, install the sampler. If the Super Themes Sampler works, the full product will work as well.

The Super Themes Templates will appear as normal in the New Web dialog.

What is the difference between the FP2000 and FP2002 Super Themes?

The FP2002 Super Theme are designed so that there will not be a gap between the left shared border and the bottom shared border. The left border will appear to stretch to connect with the bottom border. This feature requires both FP2002 and FP2002 extensions on your web server.

Can I apply the Super Themes to as many web as I want?

Each Super Themes package come with four site licenses. You may use any combination of these Template designs on FOUR (4) SITES ONLY. If you wish to use any of these design on subsequent sites, you must purchase another product (4 more licenses). This means you could use a single design four times or each design one or more times until they have been used a total of four times. See the Super Theme license for more information.

If I apply a Super Theme to my web, can I undo this change?

Yes, the Super Theme Help file contains detailed instructions on how to do this. We strongly recommend you backup your web before making global changes to your web, because it is typically easier to restore your web from a backup copy than it is to undo a global change.

I have content in the borders of my current web that I would like to copy to the new borders, how can I do this?

When the Super Theme is applied, the old shared border files are backed up in the "_borders" directory and can then be brought up to copy the content from the old borders to the new borders. See the Super Theme for detailed instructions on this procedure.

Will I have to change the navigation structure of my web?

Maybe, the top row of navigation bars can be set to either the "Global" or any Horizontal navigation setting other than "Back and Next". The Left Navigation can be set to any navigation setting except "Global" and "Back and Next". The bottom navigation bar must be set to "Back and Next". You may also need to shorten some your navigation titles to fit the width of the buttons. You also may wish to reduce the number of buttons in the top navigation bar to a reasonable number. This topic is discussed in detail in the Super Themes Browser help file.
